Building a business based on expert product knowledge, honesty and reliability, we have also been able to build a strong company that includes owners, partners and employees.
Green Valley Floral produces 80 varieties of craftsman grown garden and spray roses, within 15 acres of environmentally controlled greenhouse space in the fertile Salinas Valley in Central California.
Climate
The coastal breeze, sunny days, and cool nights of the Salinas Valley provide the optimum growing conditions for our flower varieties to thrive to great lengths. The temperate environment is then enhanced by innovative, technology-based solutions and practices to meet our greenhouse heating, cooling, and energy needs. This helps to insure we consistently supply premium, craftsman grown garden roses for the floral trade.
Quality
With a long tradition of skilled expertise, our master growers take pride in ensuring the quality of our flowers. With an emphasis placed on "seamless postharvest care", a concept we apply to make sure the only time our flowers are out of water, greenhouse to shipping, is when the stems are being hand grated. This improves performance and presentation, which allow us to provide quality, long lasting blooms.
Stewardship
Our mission has been, and always will be, to include a commitment to sustainability by ensuring fair labor practices and reducing our carbon footprint with environmentally friendly practices. From growing crops hydroponically to integrated pest management, we take pride in being a sustainable grower with a commitment to delivering flowers that meet the highest quality standards.
Renewable Energy
Green Valley Floral, a premier grower and shipper of fine cut flowers in Salinas California, has partnered with Vista Solar to create a 306kW solar solution. The solar installation is estimated to produce 475,922kWh during the first year, and will offset 78% of Green Valley Floral’s energy bill. With the rising rates of energy cost, the solar solution is estimated to save $1.6 million over the next 25 years.
